Subexponential critical slowing-down at a Floquet time-crystal phase transition

چکیده

Critical slowing down (CSD) has been a trademark of critical dynamics for equilibrium phase transitions many-body system, where the relaxation time system to reach thermal or quantum ground state diverges with size. The crystal transition attracted much attention in recent years it provides scenario dynamics, unlike conventional transitions. Here, we study near Floquet transition. Its behavior is described by introducing space-time coarse grained correlation function, whose at point revealing CSD. This demonstrated investigating one-dimensional disordered spin chain. Through finite-size scaling analysis, show universal sub-exponential point, sharp contrast standard power-law CSD prediction can be readily tested present simulation experiments.

Critical slowing down in polynomial time algorithms.

Combinatorial optimization algorithms that compute exact ground states for disordered magnets are seen to exhibit critical slowing down at zero temperature phase transitions. Using the physical features of the models, such as vanishing stiffness on one side of the transition and the ground state degeneracy, the number of operations needed in the push-relabel algorithm for the random field Ising...

Critical slowing down near the smectic-A-hexatic-B transition

2014 We have performed high-resolution heat-capacity and thermal-conductivity investigations on the same sample in the vicinity of the smectic-A-hexatic-B transition of n-propyl-4’-nheptyloxybiphenyl-4-carboxylate (370BC). The thermal diffusivity shows a pronounced drop near the transition. This clearly demonstrates and confirms the critical slowing down of the thermal fluctuations observed in ...

Critical Slowing Down Governs the Transition to Neuron Spiking

Many complex systems have been found to exhibit critical transitions, or so-called tipping points, which are sudden changes to a qualitatively different system state. These changes can profoundly impact the functioning of a system ranging from controlled state switching to a catastrophic break-down; signals that predict critical transitions are therefore highly desirable. To this end, research ...

Critical slowing down of the charge carrier dynamics at the Mott metal-insulator transition.

We report on the dramatic slowing down of the charge carrier dynamics in a quasi-two-dimensional organic conductor, which can be reversibly tuned through the Mott metal-insulator transition (MIT). At the finite-temperature critical end point, we observe a divergent increase of the resistance fluctuations accompanied by a drastic shift of spectral weight to low frequencies, demonstrating the cri...
